Prayer
given during the wedding ceremony was written together
by Jon and Leann during their Engaged Encounter weekend.
Engaged Encounter is part of the marriage preparation offered
by the Catholic Church.
The
ring pillow was hand embroidered by Leann and made by
Jon’s mother, Kathy. Kathy
also made the rose petal basket and the dresses worn
by Tessa Alcorn (junior bridesmaid) and Rylee Klemann
(flower girl).
The
berried juniper in the bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets,
the groom’s and groomsmens’ boutonnieres,
the corsages and boutonnieres worn by family and friends
involved in the wedding, as well as in the beautiful
flower arrangements on the altar, the piano, and the
table centerpieces, were all collected on the ranch by
Leann.
The
candlesticks holding the unity candle tapers belonged
to Leann’s great-grandparents, Norene DiNardo’s
parents, Arthur and Laura Ann Blecha.
The flower pots at the church were planted by Leann.
The
Yogo sapphires in Leann’s ring were originally
in a pair of earrings. They were chosen in Lewistown
on one of Jon and Leann’s camping trips.
Leann
carried two handkerchiefs down the aisle. One
was given to her by Kathy and belonged to Jon’s godmother, “Aunt” Betty
Monroe. The other was given to her by Elsie Cunningham
and belonged to Elsie’s mother, Margaret.
The tiara was from Leann’s reign as
Prom Queen.
The
Star Wars theme song is not only great recessional music,
it was significant in our engagement
story. (And
Jon is a huge fan.)
The reception table centerpieces contained wildflowers,
grasses, and other plants, like juniper and yucca, from
the ranch.
Grammy calls Leann her butterfly girl.
The butterfly on the cake and the other butterflies throughout
the wedding and reception were fun to add.
The
hair on the groom’s cake topper was hand painted
(red and blonde) by Shannon Brooks’ mom.
Jon and Leann
are both oldest children. Leann’s sister Lorena
is about a month older than Jon’s brother Ted. Leann’s
brother Larry is only a couple months older than Jon’s
sister Mary. And the personalities are similar
between the oldest, middle, and youngest children!!
